Our process

A transparent process with clear stages.

We set up the work so that at every step you understand what is happening and what comes next.

Below are the main stages and principles behind our work.

Process

How We Review Every Book

We Acquire the Book

Every textbook we review is read in full — purchased, borrowed from Rome's university libraries, or sourced directly from publishers.

We Analyse It Thoroughly

Our editors assess content accuracy, readability, structure, exercises, and how well it maps to current syllabi.

We Write the Review

Plain, direct language — no academic waffle. You get the verdict, the highlights, and the red flags in one clean post.

We Publish & Update

Reviews go live and are revisited whenever a new edition drops or reader feedback reveals something we missed.

FAQ

Common Questions About Readtextbook

Everything you need to know before you start reading our blog.

Yes — the majority of our reviews, reading lists, and study posts are completely free. A premium subscription unlocks deeper content, early access to new reviews, and our full archive of subject-specific guides.

No. We do not accept payment to write positive reviews. When publishers send us complimentary copies, we disclose it clearly — and we still write exactly what we think of the book.

We publish new reviews and articles three times per week. Premium subscribers also receive a weekly newsletter with curated picks and behind-the-scenes editorial notes.

Absolutely. Publishers, authors, and readers can suggest titles via our submissions page. We can't guarantee a review for every submission, but every request is read by our editorial team.

We cover both Italian-language editions and international English-language textbooks commonly used in Rome's universities. We always specify which edition a review applies to.
